Volunteers, who are not the first time faced with such a situation, responded to the requests of people who noticed the dog to help. They knew that they could help the dog out of trouble – the main thing is that he trusts strangers!
Upon arrival, the shelter staff called him, and at that moment the dog stuck out his muzzle. It seemed that this frightened baby was trying to hide from the whole world. The poor guy was so scared that he didn’t even react to the food! Volunteers began to actively throw pieces of food, but the dog did not show the slightest interest. He only looked at people with fear and distrust …
Finally hunger won, and the dog began to eat. His eyes were still full of fear, but the volunteers hoped they could make contact with him.
Realizing that it would not be possible to pull him out, the shelter staff decided to throw a lasso-shaped trap on the dog. The pet, of course, began to break free and tried to free itself, but the girl carefully pulled him towards herself.
Some time passed before the dog could be pulled out and even petted. Soon he was already sitting in a carrier cage. And although the dog, who was named Rufus, was still scared, the volunteers were relieved that they were able to pick him up from the street.
Soon the “boy” was bathed, examined and fed. It took a whole two weeks for the dog to finally begin to trust, but he completely changed! Now it was a cheerful pet that cheerfully ran after the toy, cuddled up to the volunteers and wagged its tail when they appeared! And how he likes being stroked! He blissfully closes his eyes and just glows with pleasure!
What does dear Rufus need now? Only loving owners who will help him forget about the past. I would like to believe that his frightened and sad eyes will finally shine with a happy brilliance!
