I met this cat almost a year ago. I went to the veterinary clinic for medicines for my animals, and returned back not only with medicines, but also with a new ward.
While I was in the clinic, a skinny, but at the same time fat cat appeared at her door. The cat’s ribs were sticking out from prolonged starvation, while her stomach was very swollen, because she was soon to become a mother. The cat stood outside the clinic and cried loudly, as if asking for help.
The animal was allowed in, fed, but no one wanted to take it away, especially since soon it would have to take care not only of the cat, but also of its offspring.
Since no one wanted to take the cat, I had to pick it up. I went home with a pregnant cat. I don’t know how she ended up on the street and what she experienced there, but the animal was missing part of an ear and several fingers on its hind foot.
Labor began a couple of days later and was difficult. The kids did not want to be born, so the cat and I went to the clinic. Maya, as I named the new ward, became the mother of five kittens. Mom didn’t have enough milk, so I had to supplement the babies with a pipette.
When Maya recovered and got stronger, I sterilized her. Life on the street affected her health, in particular, the gastrointestinal tract suffered, Maya almost did not gain weight.
