Many of our compatriots are convinced that people are the kings of nature, which means that only they have the right to a decent life. But what about those who, in their development, are similar to a small child? Scientists have proven that animals understand and feel the same way as three-year-old children.
Why is there not a drop of sympathy left in us for the small and defenseless? To those who, through the fault of people, must survive on the street? Homeless animals on the streets of the city do not appear from the forest, they do not appear by themselves. Previously, these animals had a home, but people, using the right of the strong, deprived them of it.
Sometimes the situation becomes completely absurd, I witnessed just such a story.
It was autumn, it was cold outside. A stray dog was lying near the store, I noticed that she was very thin and very cold. I try to help such animals a little, so I went to the store and bought chicken paws for the poor guy so that he could at least eat.
I was lucky, the paws were chilled, not frozen. I lured the dog behind the store, after which I put an open package in front of it and walked away, deciding that it would handle it on its own. As soon as I moved only a couple of meters, an unexpected incident forced me to return.
I heard the woman start cursing and the dog cry. When I returned, I saw an elderly woman who was literally pulling out a bag with paws from a dog. I was very surprised, so I decided to ask the woman what happened, but she was clearly not in the mood for a calm conversation, so she immediately started yelling at me:
— Virtuous found! She feeds the dog, and that people have nothing to buy meat, she does not care.
“I can spend my money on whatever I want. Are you worried about people? You have a gold ring, so take it to a pawnshop, and then buy meat and distribute it to those who, in your opinion, need it, and put the bag with the paws in place.
I clearly did not expect so many ugly words from this grandmother, but her vocabulary turned out to be extremely rich in swearing, all of which were addressed to me.
I remember this incident well. It’s hard for me to understand why people are so angry, how they can take a modest meal from stray animals, because they don’t have a home, they don’t have those who will take care and feed them.
I don’t understand why people are so aggressive towards those who feed dogs. A well-fed dog will not rush at passers-by, therefore, taking away food from animals is completely illogical. How did we come to praise callousness and cruelty, and are ready to condemn sympathy and kindness? The dog has always been a friend to humans, what happened to us that now we perceive animals as our enemies?
