Paul Skinner was cycling down the road on a perfectly normal day when he came across an absolutely devastated mother spaniel. Her eyes were filled with tears and she seemed to be in great distress.
He went to see the dog to find out the terrible truth: the mother was carrying dead puppies in a garbage bag. It happened in Midville, Lincolnshire, where a 3-year-old dog named Carly was carrying a plastic bag containing the remains of her puppies.
He told the British Borough Council he saw the incident while cycling with his buddies. They searched for the owner, but all they found was the dog licking the fish and chips carrier bag that contained its dead puppies. He couldn’t believe that someone could be so devoid of humanity that he could commit such a heinous crime.
He then informed the police, the RSCPA and the Greyhound Sanctuary, who arrived to help the bereaved mother.
PCSO Mick Fern, kennel manager at Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary, said the vet believes the babies were born alive and the dog was abandoned for so long the puppies died.
