Even if the animals are not like their relatives, they are worthy of love and care. Picasso and Newt are two unique dogs. Due to some features, the animals could not find owners for a long time, but one woman decided to take the dogs and now they have a home and a person who loves them very much.
Liesl Wilhard, a resident of the United States, organized a dog shelter, she devotes all her time to caring for those who cannot survive without human help. Picasso and Newt are such special dogs, Liesl took them to live in her house. The dogs came to her at different times, but quickly became best friends.
Picasso Liesl brought home in 2017, and four years later she took Newt to her. The curvature of the muzzle in Picasso is congenital, while in the one-year-old Newt this feature is acquired – his mother accidentally injured him in childhood, and he had to remove his upper jaw. Both dogs require special care and proper nutrition, but otherwise they are no different from other dogs: they are active, playful, love walks and adore their mistress.
“They are both very sociable, they love to appear in public, approach people and interact with them. Many people are shocked by the appearance of my pets at first. Often people look at them carefully for several seconds, as if they want to understand who is in front of them. They are incredibly funny, kind and loving dogs. I sincerely love them, and they love me back,” says the owner of the dogs.
The dogs have their own social media account, which has almost three hundred thousand users. Picasso also works as a therapist, helping people recover from illnesses.
Hundreds of animals have received help at the Liesl shelter, they do not refuse to help disabled people who need special attention and care. in addition to dogs, a woman takes care of cats, she has several chickens and a pig in her shelter, and her 8 dogs are eagerly waiting for her at home.
