An elderly cat was wandering around a house in Montreal, Canada, looking for food when a local resident drew attention to him. The animal behaved very modestly, he did not impose himself on people, but went to the window and looked into it, as if asking for some attention and food. The fact that the cat was hungry, the woman had no doubt.
Celine saw the cat when he was near her house. When he looked into her window, she realized that the animal was hungry and thus was trying to ask her for some food. The woman decided to help the poor fellow and took out a bowl of food on the porch. The cat behaved very modestly, but it was clear that he was afraid of people. The hungry cat did not approach the bowl until Celine went back into the house.
Since then, the cat began to appear at the woman’s house almost daily, and she made sure that there was always food and water in the bowls on the porch for him. The woman named her new acquaintance Lakyu, which means “lucky”.
Watching the cat, Celine noticed that he could not completely close the genus, so she realized that he had problems with his jaw. To help her fearful guest, the woman set up a humane trap.
The cat fell into the trap that evening, which gave Celine the opportunity to examine it. In addition to problems with the jaw, she also saw that the cat is very dirty, and whole hordes of fleas live in his coat. The woman called the veterinarians and the cat went to the clinic for an examination. The doctor determined that the cat was 7 years old, he had an immunodeficiency virus. The cat is not used to interacting with people. Therefore, at first he was afraid of everything around, but realizing that no one wished him harm, the animal calmed down and even allowed the clinic staff to stroke him.
Lakyu was helped, and then he went to the overexposure. Only here he could feel like a true pet, because he was looked after, he was fed and caressed. The first few weeks the cat was still afraid of people and hid from them, but later calmed down and made contact.
Lakyu turned out to be kind and calm, he loved to sit in the hands of people and courageously endured numerous medical procedures. Now they are looking for a new home for the cat and I want to believe that his nickname will justify itself and he will be able to find a family.
