Together with the police and As sappers, Magawa helped make the country safe for five years, looking for not only mines, but also other types of explosives.

The rat was able to learn this thanks to special training that she underwent in Belgium. Unfortunately, this year Magawa left this world, but her merits will long remain in the memory of the people of Cambodia.

During his cooperation with the police, the rodent found seven dozen mines, as well as almost 30 ammunition that did not explode. Magawa received official recognition for her work two years ago, becoming the first representative of her species to be awarded a medal.

Recently, the rat was retired with honors, because, due to age, it has become slow and absent-minded, and in the work of a sapper this is extremely dangerous.

Police officers who worked with Mogawa admit that they are experiencing her loss, because the rat was a great helper. “She was very small, but she made a significant contribution to the demining of our country, she was able to find about a hundred mines. She saved many lives, contributed to making Cambodia safer,” trainers and sappers say about their unusual colleague.
