Baloo the cat is very loyal to her owner. The animal has found an unusual way to show its love – every day she goes hunting and brings Ben, her owner, a gift. The animal leaves its gifts on the man’s pillow, knowing that in this way her manifestation of love and care will be the first thing he sees after waking up.
The problem in this story turned out to be that the cat and its owner have completely different ideas about gifts. In an effort to please a person, Baloo brought birds, mice and lizards to his bed, which she hunted during her walks. The cat thought she was making great gifts for Ben, but the man himself was of a completely different opinion.
Ben did not like the gifts of his pet at all, but he also knew that the cat really liked walks, so he did not want to lock her in the house. Every morning the man had to throw away another sacrifice that Baloo brought from the hunt.
Seeing that her gifts were being sent to the trash can, the cat became very upset. To catch a mouse or a lizard, she made a lot of efforts, but the owner was not at all delighted with such a manifestation of love. Baloo soon realized that Ben did not like her gifts and decided to change tactics.
The next morning on Ben’s pillow was not a dead rodent, but a beautiful leaf from a tree. This time, during the walk, the cat did not hunt, but carefully examined the leaves that fell to the ground in order to choose the most beautiful ones for its owner. This gift Ben kept for himself, which encouraged his pet to continue to act in this way. Now, every morning, Ben’s pillow is decorated with a piece of paper Baloo found on the street. The owner thanks his pet for such gifts, praises her and plays with her, encouraging her behavior.
Beg says that he is grateful to the cat for her gifts, because she does not bring the first leaf that comes across, but spends a lot of time to choose the most beautiful one.
