The dog lay on the side of the highway for almost a day, too frightened to call for help and too weak after being hit by a car to leave. She needed help, but the volunteers found out about the animal only a day after it fell under the wheels.
Having received a message that a dog was lying near the highway, which had not moved for many hours, Eldad immediately drove to the specified coordinates. The dog still remained in the same place where it had been seen the day before.
Traffic on the highway was heavy and Eldad couldn’t stop to pick up the dog. The volunteer turned to the police for help.
For the sake of saving the animal, the police stopped traffic on the highway for a while. When Eldad approached the animal, it showed no resistance and did not think of running away. The dog was completely tame, so the man carried it to his car without any problems.
Soon, Eldad and her new ward were already at the vet’s appointment. The doctor found damage to the paw, as well as fleas and parasites, which, together with matted hair, indicated that no one cared for the dog for a long time.
The dog underwent several operations, but the animal began to recover quickly. Eldad gave the pet the name PD, Paidi, as a thank you to the police officers who helped rescue the animal.
After Paidy fully recovered, she found a new home. This story has a happy ending, because the dog was lucky to meet people on its way who did not remain indifferent to its misfortune.
