“Pour the kitten milk”: a man shouted, throwing a kitten into our office and slamming the door

“Feed the kitten milk,” the man shouted through the half-open door, and then threw something just into our office. Something turned out to be a small kitten, which quickly got up on its paws, ran down the corridor and huddled in a corner under my table. The kitten turned out to be very tiny, no more than a palm, and also, very dirty. The color of the coat was indistinguishable due to the layer of dirt, snot flowed from the nose, the eyes were covered with pus. The baby smelled disgusting. The kitten smelled like the clothes of locksmiths fixing serious sewer breaks.

I am not at all indifferent to kittens and everyone in our office knows about it. As soon as the baby was under my table, all my colleagues crowded around this very table, who vying with each other began their persuasion: “Natasha, take him away. You just put him in order, and we will help him find a home. We will definitely find someone who needs a kitten, there are many of us, we will help. You just need to heal him.”

The kitten spent the whole day in our office, and after work I wrapped it in a scarf and took it home. I need to go by public transport, which is packed at this time. It was not easy to notice a tiny kitten in a scarf, so all the way the passengers looked at me and contemptuously turned away, as if they did not understand how such a fetid smell could come from a decently dressed girl. Only one girl noticed that I was clutching a yellow scarf to me for a reason and gave way to me. The drive home took over an hour.

At home, I first of all washed and dried my new ward. It turned out that a layer of dirt was hiding a charming tricolor girl. As soon as my husband crossed the threshold, I hurried to convince him that the cat was with us temporarily and that all my colleagues promised that they would find a new home for her. I assured him that as soon as I cured the baby, we would immediately give her to good hands.

The new girl in the house did not please our parrot Quentin. He has been with us for six months and during this time he decided that everything around him belongs to him. The parrot was used to flying freely around the house, but this continued only until Asya got stronger and her strength and energy returned to her.

The kitty grew up, and I understood that I didn’t want to look for a home for her at all. I have fallen in love with her. All my childhood I had cats, I brought many of them from the street, and my mother helped me wash and treat them, and over time, my parents found new families for them. Kittens were given to good hands when I was at school, because I certainly wanted all the animals to stay with us. When my husband and I moved into a rented apartment, we got a parrot because I just can’t imagine a home without a pet.
