Two years ago, not far from a suburban summer village, local residents found a dog. It was difficult to notice the animal in the thick grass, but he was lucky that people not only saw him, but also decided to help. The dog was weak and exhausted, flies were already flying over it, which laid eggs on the wounded body, but the animal had no strength left to drive away the insects. People immediately gave the dog water, she drank greedily until she finally quenched her tormenting thirst.
The animal urgently needs the help of a veterinarian, but the dog did not rise to its feet, so it was not clear how to take it to the clinic. Fortunately, other caring people came to the rescue, so they immediately moved the dog carefully to the litter, and then put it in the trunk.
Soon the animal was at the doctor’s. The veterinarian carefully examined the patient and established that this is an adult thoroughbred animal, a hound. In the clinic, the dogs shaved their hair on those areas where fly eggs were visible.
The animal spent two days under drips, then its paw was operated on. During the operation, the doctors assumed that the animal had been lying in the grass by the roadside for at least two weeks. When trying to put a plate, the dog’s bone just started to crack.
To save the dog’s paw, the surgeon and two of his assistants operated for more than three hours. 4 people took the dog to the shelter. The animal is large, and because of the trauma, it was necessary to carry it very carefully.
A curator and the name – Mira appeared on the back of the dog. It is difficult to imagine how the animal suffered for two weeks, lying in the tall grass, without help and opportunity to quench thirst and hunger, surrounded by a swarm of flies that gradually inhabited its body.
Fortunately, the doctors’ unfavorable prognosis turned out to be just a precaution, and soon the most terrible and difficult days were behind Mira. The recovery took a lot of time and effort, both from the volunteers and Mira, but it was successful.
