The dog that lay in the grass was quite small. Judging by her confused look, she did not understand at all what was happening to her and believed that this was a misunderstanding and that the owner would soon take her away. Unfortunately, she was wrong, neither she nor her puppies were needed by the owner anymore.
Noticing a dog with babies near the road, people wanted to feed and water her, but she refused treats. Then people called rescuers. The dog was sad and weak, only occasionally he looked up at the road, as if he still hoped that the owner would be nearby.
The rescuers feared that the dog would react aggressively to their approach, but when they arrived at the place they realized that its behavior was understandable.
Rescuers saw a dog in the grass near the road, a baby was lying next to it, they could not find the second one anywhere. The animal was not afraid of people, but carefully followed them with a look full of tension and sadness.
One of the rescuers managed to quickly find a common language with the dog. She took food from the hands of a man and even took her baby in her arms, the second hid behind her mother in the tall grass and tried not to catch people’s eyes.
It became clear that this family had been living by the road for more than a day. The dog was very hungry. As soon as she had eaten, she began to feed her babies, who also really wanted to eat. Realizing that people would not offend her, the dog completely entrusted them with both herself and her children.
Together with the kids, the dog was put in a cage in the trunk of the car, the rescuers carefully examined everything to make sure they found all the puppies. Intuition did not let people down, because very soon they found another puppy in the grass.
The animals were sent to a shelter, where they were immediately examined by veterinarians. Doctors came to the conclusion that the babies were born only a few days ago. Most likely, the owner abandoned the dog by the road as soon as she went into labor or immediately after the babies were born.
