Every day the dog came to the doors of shops at the same time. She cautiously peered inside, as if asking if they would let her in. The dog was small and behaved so quietly that no one objected to its presence until it caught the eye of two large guards, who decided to deal with it. The dog did nothing wrong, only wanted to ask for at least some food, but the big and well-fed guards were not interested in the sadness of a hungry animal.
The guards kicked Emma out, probably, this added importance to them in their own eyes, and the girl had only to return to the lake again, risking when crossing the road, and left with an empty stomach. Embracing her wand, Emma lay down to sleep just on the ground under a star-studded sky. In the morning, the dog again headed to the shops, where the smell of food beckoned him. She lay between the shops and the road, you could meet her here both in summer, when the asphalt melted from the heat, and in winter, when everything around was fettered by cold. Sometimes the seller or customers of the shawarma stall treated her to pieces of their food, which Emma was incredibly happy about.
I was told about this dog by a friend who often saw her in the same place. I took pity on Emma, and as soon as there was room in the petting room, I took her off the street.
Unfortunately, many years of struggle for survival seriously undermined Emma’s health, so we soon had to urgently take her to the veterinarian.
Emma faded away literally before our eyes, she became weak, could not drink and eat, her eyes became dull and the dog’s condition worsened day by day. Together with Emma, we began to fight for her life. Denis, the owner of the pet inn, paid special attention to Emma, making sure she got her pills on time and giving her the injections she needed. Emma courageously endured all the procedures, only every time she looked at Denis as if she was saying goodbye to him. We all thought that Emma would soon be gone.
We could not leave the girl further in the zoo, there was no free place in the hospital. My friend Natasha took care of her, who did everything possible and helped us a lot to save Emmochka.
When no one was counting, Emma’s condition began to slowly improve, over time she got stronger and became active, joy again settled in her eyes, for which we must say thanks to the veterinarian and Natasha, who did the impossible.
