The cat looked very bad, it was clear that he was not injured by chance, most likely he was beaten and did it more than once.
The veterinarian tried to explain to the woman that the cat can be cured and that one should not take such extreme measures as euthanasia, and the owner insisted on her own, arguing that Kuza was already 10 years old and she did not need him. In addition, she said that once a year someone does this to him, “teaches”, as the woman herself explained. Lena filmed the cat on video and sent it to me, saying that she only had a few minutes to decide. I immediately realized that the cat must be saved, and not only from a fatal injection, but also from a negligent hostess.
Listening to the explanations of the owner of the cat, it was hard for me to understand how a person should degrade in order to carry such nonsense. In my opinion, such people should be banned from approaching animals altogether. Kuzya lived with her for 10 years and I am sure that every year was painful for him. I don’t know if the cat was sent out on its own or if it was treated so cruelly at home, but the words of the woman were cruel and cynical, they suggested that the cat never knew what good treatment, care or treatment meant.
When we said that we would take the cat, the woman was extremely surprised. She could not understand why we needed an elderly animal and tried to dissuade us, telling us that Kuzya is very picky about food, does not know how to catch mice and is generally very dependent due to the lack of teeth and advanced age.

This story is very sad, because it becomes clear that all 10 years of the cat’s life was not easy for him, but at the end he also had to lie on the bed for 4 days, without food, water and the ability to move, at least that’s what his owner told us, who left the animal alone for 4 days, just leaving home and not even worrying about her pet.
