Carlos was a big fan of dogs, and he preferred to devote his free time to hiking, so he decided to get a pet to keep him company on his travels. The choice of the man fell on the Labradoodle, who received the name Monty. The dog, like its owner, turned out to be a fan of walks in nature.
Every weekend, Carlos and Monty left London and went to nature. Together, the man and his dog traveled the whole country, they walked along hundreds of forest paths and conquered more than one peak. A couple of travelers even got their favorite place – the Brecon Beakins Reserve, where they could walk along the mountain range.
Insidious disease
Unexpectedly for everyone, Monty was diagnosed with a terrible disease – blood cancer. It was difficult for Carlos to come to terms with the diagnosis that his friend was given, he took the dog to various veterinarians, followed all the doctors’ orders and did everything possible to make Monty get better. The dog underwent chemotherapy, but, unfortunately, the disease continued to develop. While Carlos fought with all his might for the life of his pet, in the Crimea, the unfortunate owner tried to get rid of the mongrel, which did not bother anyone.
Monty was getting weaker every day and at some point he could no longer move, and after that he completely refused to eat. Soon the dog wouldn’t even get up. Carlos was very worried that he could not help his friend, he was looking for at least some way to reduce his suffering. The man had the idea that Monty would like to take a last walk in their favorite nature reserve.
Last climb to the top
Monty hardly moved, therefore, Carlos himself had to lift him to the mountain peaks. The man covered an ordinary construction wheelbarrow with soft blankets and put his dog there.
Their favorite place to rest was on a mountain almost 900 meters high, and it was there that Carlos took Monty for his last walk. The trail was crowded, the tourists looked with surprise at the man who was climbing up and at the same time dragging a wheelbarrow in which the dog was lying.
People are not indifferent
Some of the tourists stopped and asked Carlos what he was doing. Hearing the story of the man and his dog, people could hardly hold back their tears, they cheered Carlos and Monti, helped them overcome the most difficult sections of the path.
