It was cold outside, the frosts were becoming more and more noticeable. Near the store lay a rug covered with frost. A small dog with short hair, which had no tail, tried to hide on it from the cold. To keep warm and fit on a small rug, the baby curled up in a ball, but judging by the way she was shivering, this did not help much. The dog had been at the store for a week, but all this time employees, customers, and passers-by ignored her.
Only once Asya was “lucky” – one of the buyers put a piece of meat next to her, but it was frozen, and the girl was so weak that she did not have the strength to eat. After a while, they wrote about Asya in social networks, but the author of the post did not leave his contacts, and the post itself did not receive a big response. I saw this post and circulated it, not really hoping that it would be useful.
It was not immediately possible to contact the author of the post, but nevertheless I managed to do this and find out where the girl was. When they came for the dog, it turned out that even the mat was taken away from the baby. It is not clear to whom and with what he could interfere or for what it was needed, most likely, this was done simply out of anger. According to my acquaintances, at the moment when they drove up to the store, one of the employees shouted at the dog, trying to “instill manners in it.” The baby was shaking not only from the cold, but also from fright, because there was simply nowhere to hide from the scream.
As was not like other stray animals. It was clear that she was exhausted and sick, she was frightened by the street and did not understand at all how to take care of herself, which means that before she was at the store, she was at home. Perhaps it was her former owners who left her at the store and she did not leave, hoping that they would return for her soon. But no one came for her, perhaps the owners were simply tired of her, or maybe they were gone, and the relatives did not want to take care about Asa. This happens very often…
Asya’s thinness looked painful, so the first thing we did was take her to the vet. Doctors diagnosed dehydration and malnutrition, which only confirmed that she had previously lived at home and did not know that snow could be used instead of water.
The doctor determined that Asya was about one and a half years old. The girl turned out to be surprisingly kind and affectionate, and also very smart and well-mannered. Asya is leash-trained and behaved exemplarily in the clinic.
