By the time Zlata caught the eye of the volunteers, she was severely emaciated. The skin was so close to her skeleton that you could see every bone. The dog was exhausted, and seemed resigned to his fate, because his eyes were dull and did not express any hope at all. However, when she was called, she meekly followed the man, choosing grassy areas along the way, because it was painful for her to move on the asphalt.
Despite the extremely neglected state, it was immediately clear from Zlata that this was a thoroughbred animal. The elegance and nobility of the Russian hound was guessed in her every movement.
Over time, it became clear that the former owners did not indulge their pet with attention, she was not at all accustomed to talking and stroking, any other manifestations of affection. Even now, she is wary of attention from people. Zlata is a well-mannered and obedient girl, even when the procedures hurt her, she courageously endured and did not try to cry or break free, she is accustomed to the leash and if you just pull it a little, the dog stops immediately. She is also a big fan of car trips, probably, at one time for her, they were the harbingers of a hunting trip, which was the only thing that gave her joy.
It is even scary to imagine how difficult the dog’s life was both at the time when she had an owner, and after her aged and almost blind was kicked out into the street. after conducting tests, veterinarians suggested that the dog lived most of its life in poor conditions with a lack of sunlight and malnutrition. Most likely, Zlata ate leftovers, while even they were never enough.
Doctors found damage to Zlata’s paw, but they cannot say whether it happened by accident or as a result of a bad attitude of a person. We do not know what her fate was before she came to the barnyard near the monastery, attracted by the smells of food and lay there, preparing to die.
Zlata deserved another life in which she will be loved, taken care of and fed deliciously. We really want her fate to change now, and she finally knows what happiness is. In the near future, Zlata will have an operation on her paw, but for now, the doctors are waiting for the swelling to decrease in order to safely perform the intervention. While the girl is in foster care, where they take care of her and try to help her adapt to a new life.
