It is not known what happened to the mother of these six puppies, but they remained orphans. Helpless kids were saved by a street cat who could not leave them in trouble and began to take care of the puppies, get food for them and raise the kids.
So that the puppies would not starve, the cat caught mice and birds for them, washed them in the morning, protected them from other stray animals and did not give offense. The cat took care of the puppies until the volunteers found this unusual family in the forest near Anapa.
To the place where the puppies lived, people were brought by their guardian – a cat. Noticing people near the forest belt, the cat began to scream loudly, and when he managed to attract the attention of people, he did everything possible for them to follow him. The situation was so unusual that the volunteers did not immediately realize that it was the cat who was taking care of the puppies. The cat turned out to be a wonderful guardian: the kids did not starve, did not get sick and were relatively clean. Interestingly, cats often adopt other people’s babies, but for cats this behavior is very atypical. At first, the volunteers believed that it was the cat who adopted the puppies and were surprised when they realized that it was a cat.
It was still warm outside, so they just set up a booth in the forest for the puppies and the cat, they were regularly visited and brought food. When the temperature began to drop below zero, the whole family was taken from the forest to a warm house built for dogs. The cat immediately examined the new house and his eyes were very skeptical. Only after the cat saw everything he wanted, he allowed the puppies to also go inside.
Puppies grew very quickly and gained weight. When they were small, they slept on the cat, and this habit remained with them, only they became large and now could inadvertently hurt the cat. The volunteers decided to take the animal and give it a separate place, at that moment they found out that it was not a cat at all, but a cat. Even when separated from puppies. The cat came to visit them every day, but he no longer went hunting, because he knew that his wards were well fed and he did not need to get mice and birds for them.
For puppies quickly found new families. When everyone was handed out, the cat became sad. He walked around the shelter and looked for his wards. Kotu also began to look for a house and soon a man came to meet him. As it turned out, the man and his wife recently lost a cat, which was very similar to the one that the volunteers found in the forest. The new owner fell in love with the cat at first sight. In the new house, he received the name Marquis and lived a happy, calm life. The new owners have never seen the cat hunt, probably, at one time he did it so often that he decided to take a break.
