Pit bulls can’t howl. Well, at least everyone thinks so. However, if you meet a good teacher, then even pit bulls will succeed!
An eight-year-old German pointer named Gunner, when he saw a pit bull puppy, which the owners brought, immediately realized that he would make friends with the baby. Little Murphy literally fell in love with his older brother, and, of course, began to imitate him in everything!
The owner of the animals, Sarah Lee, says that the pets bonded instantly. Murphy considers Gunner an authority and tries to repeat everything that he does. And the kid was doing pretty well until he heard the pointer howl! And he howled every time he heard the sounds of a train passing nearby, an ambulance or a police siren. Gunner did this often and with pleasure.
Little Murphy was puzzled. He could not repeat the same sound for his older brother (usually pit bulls do not howl at all). He watched Gunner very carefully, turned his muzzle from side to side and even sniffed.
Even though howling was not Murphy’s natural skill, he once managed to mimic the sound of his older brother. Since then, the dogs have been singing as a duet.
Gunner taught his ward not only to howl, but also to be affectionate with small children. The owner of the animals cannot get enough of her pets, and says that the whole family loves their dogs unconditionally, even if they often make noise.
