“Just look what our dog brought!” the man exclaimed. The couple, who live in Washington County, did not expect their pet to bring home such a “surprise”.

When the dog returned from a walk, she was holding something neatly in her mouth. Interested owners came closer and saw that she had brought into the house … a little bear cub! The baby weighed only five hundred grams, while he was dehydrated and, of course, hungry.
The owners immediately contacted the rescuers, who took the baby to the Virginia Wildlife Center. He was provided with the necessary care, surrounded by care and treated.

Amanda Nicholson, one of the staff, says that the black bear cub, rescued by the dog, quickly got stronger and gained strength. He was returned back to the wild, given to the she-bear, who began to take care of the baby, as if she were her own.
The most important thing is that the bear cub was found healthy. Pets often find cubs, but it is extremely rare that the babies are not hurt. A significant number of animals fall into the clutches of free-roaming domestic cats and dogs. Sometimes dogs can inadvertently disturb the nests of some land animals.

But the dog that found and brought the teddy bear to the owners acted very carefully, realizing that one should not grit his teeth too much! Who really is a good girl. It is thanks to her that the baby is now alive.
The Wildlife Center treats over 3,000 wild animals every year at its hospital. The little bear cub, which has now been returned to the wild, was first placed in an incubator. Especially for him, a round-the-clock feeding schedule was calculated. Thanks to the efforts of the staff, the baby survived and now lives under the supervision of a foster mother next to other cubs.

Perhaps now the crumb weighs a little more than a loaf of bread, but when he grows up, this figure will reach 250 kilograms! The animal will be able to turn boulders weighing 140 kilograms with one paw.

Grow big and healthy, baby!
